Shreya Ghoshal is an Indian playback singer, celebrated for her work in various Indian languages and genres, as well as her presence in Bollywood. She made her impactful entry into the music world with her win on the reality TV show “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa,” but it was her playback singing debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film “Devdas” in 2002 that catapulted her to widespread fame. Her voice has graced not only Bollywood movies but also films in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.

Ghoshal has worked in numerous films and released several albums, such as “Bendhechhi Beena.” She has been a part of memorable songs like “Bairi Piya,” “Jaadu Hai Nasha Hai,” and “Deewani Mastani.” Her roles aren’t confined to Bollywood; she has an extensive body of work in South Indian films, where her voice has been featured in hits like “Munbe Vaa” and “Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana.”

Shreya Ghoshal has worked with a remarkable range of artists and composers. Her work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in “Devdas” set the tone for a career filled with impressive collaborations. She has also partnered with musical icons like A.R. Rahman, who featured her in the globally famous Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack. Then there are the lyricists like Gulzar and Javed Akhtar, who have penned songs that Ghoshal brought to life. She has sung alongside Sonu Nigam in tracks like “Zoobi Doobi,” and with Kailash Kher in “Tere Liye.” She’s also been a part of projects with composers like Himesh Reshammiya and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. Not just musicians, she has collaborated with actors like Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, as her songs often play a crucial role in the narrative of their films.
