Penelope Ann Miller
Penelope Ann Miller is an American actress known for her roles in films such as The Freshman (1990), Awakenings (1990), and Carlito’s Way (1993). She also starred in the Academy Award-winning film The Artist (2011).
Miller began her career on Broadway, starring in the Tony Award-winning play Our Town in 1989, where she was nominated for a Tony Award for her role as Emily Webb. She transitioned to film, appearing in The Freshman with Marlon Brando and Matthew Broderick. In Awakenings, she worked with Robert De Niro and Robin Williams. Her role as Gail in Carlito’s Way saw her acting alongside Al Pacino. Miller also appeared in Chaplin (1992) with Robert Downey Jr., and in The Artist with Jean Dujardin.
