Latto, born Alyssa Michelle Stephens, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter hailing from Atlanta, Georgia. Latto first gained recognition in 2017 when she won the reality TV competition “The Rap Game,” hosted by Jermaine Dupri and Queen Latifah. The show featured young aspiring rappers competing for a record deal with Dupri’s label, So So Def Recordings. Latto’s confident performances and sharp rhymes won over both the judges and the audience, earning her the top prize.

Since then, Latto has continued to make waves in the industry, releasing a string of successful singles and collaborating with other artists. Some of her breakout roles include her appearances on tracks like “Muwop” with Mulatto, “Thick (Remix)” with DJ Chose, and “Big Energy” with T-Pain.

One of the milestones in Latto’s career was the release of her debut studio album, “Queen of Da Souf,” in August 2020. The album showcased her versatility as an artist, with tracks ranging from hard-hitting trap anthems to smooth R&B jams. “Queen of Da Souf” received critical acclaim and helped establish Latto as a force to be reckoned with in the industry.

Latto has collaborated with a number of other artists throughout her career, including Megan Thee Stallion, City Girls, Saweetie, Lil Wayne, and Gucci Mane. Her collaborations with fellow Atlanta native Mulatto have been particularly successful, with the duo appearing on several tracks together, including the hit single “Muwop.”

In addition to her music career, Latto is also an animal lover and advocate. In a 2020 interview with PETA, Latto discussed her passion for animals, stating that she has “always been an animal person” and encouraging her fans to support animal welfare causes.
