Jacob Collier
Jacob Collier is an English singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. Known for incorporating jazz and various other genres into his music, Collier’s work is characterized by the use of complex harmonies and vocal arrangements. He has earned multiple Grammy Awards, notably in categories such as Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella, and Best Arrangement, Instruments and Vocals. Collier initially gained recognition through viral YouTube videos and has since released several albums, including the critically acclaimed “Djesse” series.
Collier’s debut album, “In My Room” (2016), was entirely self-recorded in his home in London, leading to his first Grammy Awards for his arrangements of “Flintstones” and “You and I”. The “Djesse” series, spanning four volumes, features over fifty songs and involves collaborations with a wide range of artists, showcasing Collier’s versatility across different musical styles. Each volume of “Djesse” explores distinct genres and includes contributions from numerous musicians.
Collier has collaborated with an array of artists across the music industry, including Quincy Jones, with whom he signed in 2014; Herbie Hancock, whom he met at the Montreux Jazz Festival through Jones; Hans Zimmer, with whom he worked on the film “The Boss Baby”; Snarky Puppy, contributing to their album “Family Dinner – Volume 2”; Tori Kelly, and Daniel Caesar.
