Dylan Strome
Dylan Strome is a Canadian professional ice hockey center currently playing for the Washington Capitals in the NHL. He was selected third overall by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
Strome began his junior hockey career with the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), where he demonstrated significant offensive prowess. In the 2014–15 season, he led the league in scoring with 129 points, earning the Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy and the CHL Top Scorer Award. After being drafted by the Coyotes, Strome split his early professional years between the NHL and the American Hockey League (AHL), honing his skills with the Tucson Roadrunners. In November 2018, he was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks, where he enjoyed a breakout season, tallying 51 points in 58 games. In July 2022, Strome signed with the Washington Capitals.
During Strome’s time with the Erie Otters, he played alongside Connor McDavid, enhancing his development. In Chicago, he reunited with junior teammate Alex DeBrincat, forming a productive partnership. With the Washington Capitals, Strome has had the opportunity to play with seasoned veterans like Alexander Ovechkin and Nicklas Bäckström.
Strome’s achievements include leading the OHL in scoring during the 2014–15 season, earning both the Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy and the CHL Top Scorer Award. Internationally, he captained Team Canada to a silver medal at the 2017 IIHF World Junior Championship and contributed to Canada’s silver medal at the 2019 IIHF World Championship.
