Delta Dawn (Dog)

Breed: Mixed Breed | Adopted 2007
Rescued

Miranda Lambert has a rescue dog named Delta Dawn that’s a Chihuahua-Pug mix. Once a road dog, now Delta Dawn is a true celebrity pet, appearing in five of Lambert’s music videos!

I found her at Sonic when I lived in Oklahoma. I went to get a Cherry limeade and left with a chug and a cherry limeade. We are the perfect match because she has been through a lot in her life,” she added. “And she is a road dog, kind of like her mom, she likes to travel and is down for anything. She has a great personality and she has my whole heart.

Macaroni and Tequila (Cat)

Adopted Jun 2020
Rescued

Miranda Lambert has two rescue cats named Macaroni and Tequila. Macaroni is the dark tabby cat, and Tequila is the ginger and white cat. Lambert and her husband Brendan shared the story of how they rescued Tequila on Instagram:

Two lane highway in Texas, speed limit 70. Brendan slows down and does a U-turn… Me to B: “why are you turning around? “
B to me: “there’s a kitten in the road and I knew you would kill me if I saw it and didn’t stop.” Well I guess the rescue ways are rubbing off on him. We stopped at mom and dads on the way home. Dad has a new bestie. This kitten rode 9 hours back to Nashville with us and 3 dogs and was such a champ. He is 4-5 weeks old and weighs 14 Ounces. Y’all welcome Tequila the kitten to the family! #tequiladoes

Jessi (Dog)

Breed: Golden Retriever | Adopted Jan 2008
Rescued

Miranda Lambert adopted a lucky Golden Retriever pup named Jessi in 2008, along with Waylon. Jessi passed away in July 2021 at the age of 13. Jessi was named after country singer Jessi Colter.

Today we had to say goodbye to our sweet Jessi. I got to love her and be her mom for 13 1/2 years. I found her and her brother Waylon on the side of the road in Oklahoma in Jan 2008 in the middle of a sleet storm. They were 6 weeks old. My mom was in the truck with me and we were listening to the “I am Jessi Colter” album. That’s how they got their names. We lost Waylon last October but we got to have Jessi just a little longer. But the truth is they belong together. They always have. I know she missed him terribly and we are so thankful to have had extra time. Today they are reunited at the rainbow bridge. We sent her off with the song “Storms Never Last” from the same record she heard playing the first time I put her in my truck. I can’t put into words what a dogs love does to a heart. But if you have one you already know. A special thank you to the incredible team at @animaliawellness @vrsmtn for taking such good care of these two and all of our other fur babies. Y’all gave us extra years we wouldn’t have had with Jessi and Way and I’m so grateful. And to @sarahananney @julianentwig for being her other moms. It’s so hard to let them go but the love is worth it. #rescue #dogmom @muttnation

Waylon (Dog)

Breed: Golden Retriever | Adopted Jan 2008
Rescued

When Miranda Lambert found Jessi on the side of the road, she was with her brother, who Lambert also adopted and named Waylon. This pup was named after Waylon Jennings, country singer, and husband to Jessi Colter. Waylon passed away when he was 12 years old in October 2020.

Today I lost one of my best friends. My old pal Waylon. I found him and his sister on the side of the road in Oklahoma in January 2008. They were abandoned , starving and freezing nearly to death. I was listening to Jessi Colter and Waylon Jennings at the time me and mom saw them and pulled over to pick them up. I took them straight to the vet and she told me that the little boy was not doing too well (malnourished and dehydrated ) because whatever they had found to eat while they were homeless, he always let her eat first. He did that nearly his whole life. She said he probably wouldn’t make it but he did. For almost 13 years. He was a rock in our family and always held down the fort. He lived his life with no fences. The way we all want to live. He was a farm dog through and through and retired to Nashville life riding on the bus with mama to go home to Texas for Christmas every year. I’m so thankful for the time we had with him and I’m thankful for the rest of the time we have with his sister Jessi. Im so glad my husband @brendanjmcloughlin got to know him in his final years. We are heartbroken but happy that he is running across the rainbow bridge right now and will be waiting for us when we get there. Dogs change your life. The bond is something that can’t be described unless you have lived it. Thank you @sarahananney @julianentwig and @t_man_photo for being his other moms and dad and taking such care of him when I was gone.

And thank you to the team at @animaliawellness in Franklin TN and BluePearl pet hospital in Franklin TN for giving us such amazing treatment and a few more years together. Hug your pups today y’all. #rescuedog #dogmom @muttnation

Cool (Horse)

Adopted Mar 2024

In March 2024, Miranda Lambert added a horse named Cool to her farm family.

Y’all please welcome the newest member of our farmily. This is “Cool”. He is one of the sweetest horses I’ve ever met. He does it all with grace and patience and has already taught me so much. In the last few months I’ve picked up the hobby of mounted shooting and in the process I’ve made some amazing new friends including this handsome fella. He came at the perfect time in my life when I needed a challenge and to try something new. I turned 40 in November and I’m ready for a decade of pushing myself to be better and bolder both personally and professionally. This feels like the perfect beginning to that journey. Thanks to my great friend @kenda_lenseigne for this match made in cowgirl heaven. Mark and Karen Plumlee loved this horse so much and are kind enough to trust me with him for his next adventures . Y’all get ready it’s gettin country and western around here!

Musicians

Miranda Lambert is an established American country music artist, known for her strong songwriting and performing talents that have helped to redefine the modern country genre.

Miranda’s debut album, Kerosene, released in 2005, set the stage for a prolific career, with all four singles reaching the top 40 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs. Her subsequent albums, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Revolution, were notable for their blend of traditional and modern country elements, and both garnered critical acclaim. Her double album, The Weight of These Wings, released in 2016, was a commercial success and proved her ability to tackle themes of heartbreak and resilience with emotional depth and a raw edge. A strong collaborator, she has worked with a diverse range of artists across her career, including Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, and her former band, The Pistol Annies.

Throughout her career, Lambert has often joined forces with other notable figures in the music industry. She collaborated with Keith Urban on the song “We Were Us,” which peaked at number one on the country charts. Alongside Carrie Underwood, she delivered the high-energy hit “Somethin’ Bad,” showcasing their combined vocal power. Other collaborations include working with Dierks Bentley on the song “Bad Angel,” Little Big Town on the track “Smokin’ and Drinkin’,” and Elle King for the chart-topping “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home).” Perhaps her most personal collaboration was with her former band, The Pistol Annies, composed of Ashley Monroe, Angaleena Presley, and Lambert herself.

Miranda Lambert’s talent and dedication to her craft have earned her numerous awards and distinctions. Her album Revolution won the Country Music Association’s Album of the Year in 2010. The same year, she won her first Grammy for the single “The House That Built Me.” In 2014, she was named Female Vocalist of the Year by the Academy of Country Music, her fifth consecutive win of the title. Her double album, The Weight of These Wings, was awarded Album of the Year by the Academy of Country Music in 2017.
