Mike Sorrentino aka ‘The Situation’ (July 4, 1982) is an American reality tv-show star. He is known for his role on MTV reality tv show Jersey Shore(2009-2012) and most recently, Jersey Shore: Family Vacation (2018).
He has made appearances on a multitude of talk shows, including The Howard Stern Show, The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, The Jay Leno Show, Lopez Tonight, SportsNation, Chelsea Lately, and The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Sorrentino has also appeared on Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars with his partner, Lauren Pesce in 2015 and again with his brothers Marc and Frank Sorrentino for a family edition of the show in 2017. Sorrentino was a participant on the show Worst Cooks in America (2016) and Dancing with the Stars(2010).
In 2010 Sorrentino made more than $5 million, placing him the second highest earning reality star that year, just following Kim Kardashian.
While Sorrentino’s net worth was estimated to be $12 million in 2017, his recent guilty plea to tax fraud has made that number significantly lower. His indictment alleges that he had evaded paying $8.9 million in federal taxes.
