Henry Cavill Gets New French Bulldog Named Baggins, After the Loss of His 14-Year-Old Frenchie

Henry Cavill, star of The Witcher series, had happy news to share on Instagram recently: His partner Natalie Viscuso and he added a new French Bulldog puppy to their fur family at the end of June.

And with Cavill and his partner both massive fans of fantasy, they named him Baggins after the iconic Lord of the Rings characters Bilbo and Frodo Baggins (played by Martin Freeman and Elijah Wood, respectively). Cavill goes on to describe the pup as “… a little wonder and also a little terror, just as puppies should be, and he is indeed nourishing our hearts.” He’s seen below meeting Cavill’s iconic Akita named Kal-El (after Superman’s birth name).

This happy news follows sad news that Cavill shared in the Instagram above. His partner Natalie Viscuso’s 14-year-old Frenchie named Meat passed away in August. The couple has been together for two years and it’s clear Cavill became quite attached to the lil guy as well. But judging by Viscuso’s Instagram, Meat has a fantastic life, even in his old age!

And Baggins is already having a blast with his dad, seen here supervising Cavill grill up an incredible-looking steak.
