If you’ve made it here, then you know nothing puts a bigger smile on our faces than an adorable animal doing what they do best. Puppies do the darndest things and we have them all here.

Paralyzed miracle kittens, 101 stray dalmatians, and abused puppies who never give up are all in a day’s work for Vet Ranch. The charitable organization was started by modern day hero Dr. Matt Carriker in 2014.

Hundreds gathered in Michigan to salute and say goodbye to a true four-legged hero. Cena was a 10-year-old black labrador and a US marine who served three tours of duty in Afghanistan. In 2009, Cena served his first tour as a bomb sniffer with human marine Jeff DeYoung and again in 2010.

You won’t find many young South Koreans who support the archaic traditions surrounding the Bok Nal Days. Nara Kim from the Humane Society International (HSI) is one citizen who opposes the dog meat trade and antiquated Bok Nal practices. She’s an outspoken animal rights activist who helped a Korean dog meat farmer rescue 148 pups destined for the meat market.

In Tanzania this summer, a wild lioness was captured on film nursing a lone leopard cub. Lost and alone, the baby somehow found it’s way to the mother lion who nursed it back to health. This is the first documented incident of cross-species behaviour between wild cats.

Part Malamute, part arctic wolf, part husky and all good boy, Loki the Wolfdog is one man’s best friend. Kelly Lund brought Loki home as a pup during a blizzard in 2012. The two immediately started going on adventures together, Lund had Loki backcountry snowboarding when he was only four months old.

Chris P. Bacon was born without the use of his back legs. He was dropped off to be euthanized by his original owner, but vet Len Lucero had other plans for the piglet.

An orange seahorse mistaken for junk food was rescued on Indian Shores Beach in Florida earlier this week. A young girl and her mother were having a day out at the beach when the girl noticed something odd. A seagull flying above her dropped what looked like a cheeto out of it’s mouth.

Most people would expect these two feline residents of Russia to not get along, let alone have a loving long-term relationship together.

We all know long distance relationships can be hard, but that hasn’t stopped the ocean from getting in between human diver Hiroyuki Arakawa and Asian sheepshead wrasse Yoriko. Arakawa runs a local dive shop and has been trusted to look after a Shinto religion shrines, which happens to be under the water in Japan’s Tateyama Bay. Over the years, he’s gotten to know the aquatic neighbors quite well, but his friendship with Yoriko is a special one.

Well you’d need a lot more than your friends’ likes to compete against over 10,000 international entries submitted for this year’s Dog Photographer of the Year Awards. Hosted by the Kennel Club and judged by a range of industry experts, there are ten categories and an overall winner.
