Traci Lords is an American actress and singer known for her transition from the adult film industry to mainstream entertainment. She gained recognition for her roles in films like Cry-Baby and television series such as Melrose Place.

Lords began her mainstream acting career with a notable role in John Waters’ Cry-Baby (1990). She appeared in TV series including Melrose Place (1995) and The L Word (2004). Lords starred in the film Not of This Earth (1988) and The Scorned (2005). She released the album 1000 Fires (1995), featuring the single “Control.”

Lords collaborated with John Waters on Cry-Baby, and worked with director Steve Cohen on Not of This Earth. She appeared alongside Heather Locklear in Melrose Place and contributed to The L Word alongside Leisha Hailey. Her music collaboration with producer David A. Stewart on 1000 Fires was significant.
