Maria Canals-Barrera is an American actress known for playing Theresa Russo in the Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place and Connie Torres in Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. She voiced Hawkgirl in Justice League and appeared as Angie Lopez in Cristela. Her work in Wizards of Waverly Place earned her an ALMA Award in 2011.

In Wizards of Waverly Place, she acted alongside Selena Gomez, portraying her character’s mother throughout the series. In Camp Rock and its sequel, she performed with Demi Lovato, playing the role of her on-screen parent. Her voice role as Hawkgirl in Justice League included scenes with the voice cast featuring Kevin Conroy. On Cristela, she worked with Cristela Alonzo in a lead ensemble role. She appeared with Carlos Ponce in Cristela, where they played a married couple. In Larry Crowne (2011), she acted with Tom Hanks. She was also part of The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder, working alongside Kyla Pratt.
