Jungwon, with the real name Yang Jung-won, is a South Korean singer and dancer most notably recognized as the leader of the boy band ENHYPEN, managed by Belift Lab, a joint venture between Big Hit Entertainment and CJ E&M.

Yang Jung-won began making waves in the South Korean entertainment scene as a contestant on the reality show “I-LAND.” His drive and talent quickly earned him a spot in the final lineup of ENHYPEN, where he made his official debut in November 2020 with the Extended Play (EP) “Border: Day One.” This marked the start of a rapid rise in the K-pop industry, with the album selling over 300,000 copies within the first week of release. A second EP, “Border: Carnival,” followed in 2021, demonstrating his growth as an artist with a more mature sound and narrative.

Jungwon’s collaboration portfolio is a testament to his industry influence, and includes work with established figures in the K-pop world. His work with the producers Wonderkid and FRANTS, for example, led to chart-topping hits such as “Drunk-Dazed.” Additionally, his co-members in ENHYPEN – Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, and Ni-ki – have greatly contributed to his development as an artist, with their team synergy shining through in performances. Jungwon also worked with Bang Si-hyuk, the founder of Big Hit Entertainment, known for creating global sensation BTS.

Throughout his relatively short career, Jungwon has garnered several prestigious recognitions. With ENHYPEN, he won the ‘New Artist of the Year’ award at both the Golden Disc Awards and Seoul Music Awards in 2021. The group’s first studio album, “Dimension: Dilemma,” not only reached number one on Gaon’s Album Chart but also made it onto the Billboard 200, a significant achievement for a group less than two years old at the time.
