Guinea Pig and Bird
Erykah Badu’s kids have a pet bird and a guinea pig named Young Tonya. She told Vogue Magazine she doesn’t like animals living in cages, but they were both gifts to her children. When Vogue Magazine asked her “what keeps you up at night?”, Badu answered. “The pig! I wake up in the middle of the night wondering whether I fed her. Does she need anything? Is she having a good life in the cage? The day they got her I was like, “No ma’am, No ma’am.” And then Mars goes ahead and names her Young Tonya. If she didn’t have that name, I wouldn’t have been attached to her like that. But it’s such a good rap name.”
