Choi Soo-young's Pets

Does Choi Soo-young Have Any Pets?

Sooyoung—from dancing and rapping to acting and vlogging—has a large family of eight pets. Her family of six dogs and two cats, named Bori, Cherri, Suri, Mori, Aebong, HoYoung, Yeoreum (Summer), and Gaeul (Autumn), offer her comfort and companionship, particularly during life's challenging moments as a Korean pop star.

Suri

Suri stands out as the most easily recognizable pet among Sooyoung’s fans, often referred to as “Sone” and “Sooyoungster.” Originally, Suri was unique as the only white dog in the household, a distinction she held until Aebong arrived. She has been part of Sooyoung and her family for likely six years or more, appearing on Sooyoung’s Instagram since its inception in 2014.

Mori

Breed: Yorkshire Terrier

At first glance, Mori and Cherri can be easily confused, both being Yorkshire Terriers. The subtle difference lies in their fur—Mori sports a lighter shade, while Cherri boasts a darker hue. Like other long-standing members of Sooyoung’s pet family, both have been living with her and her family for at least six years.

Bori

Adopted 2014

As 2014 was drawing to a close, Sooyoung returned to Instagram to unveil a new addition to her furry family—a chocolate-brown dog named Bori.

Aebong

Adopted 2014

After years of Sooyoung being primarily associated with her quartet of pets—Suri, Mori, Bori, and Cherri—Aebong entered the spotlight as a new canine companion, currently at six years old.

HoYoung

Wondering about the origins of the name HoYoung? It’s a creative fusion of the names of both of his owners, Jung KyungHo and SooYoung. The six-year-old dog shares his home with both, and the couple takes turns caring for him and their other pet, Aebong, based on their respective schedules.

Gaeul

Adopted Dec 2017

In December 2017, Sooyoung took to social media to introduce her new feline friend. She captioned a photo with “Mommy wants us to be friends #.learningeachother,” showing her dog HoYoung lying down while the black cat, believed to be named Gaeul, stood calmly beside him.

Yeoreum

Sooyoung later introduced Yeoreum on her Instagram.
