Choi Soo-young
Choi Soo-young, known as Sooyoung, is a South Korean singer and actress, primarily known for her association with the girl group Girls’ Generation. She has leveraged her musical roots to forge a diverse career in entertainment, extending her reach into acting in dramas such as “My Spring Days” and “Squad 38.”
Sooyoung’s repertoire is not limited to music. Her screen presence became more evident when she took roles in films like “Memories of a Dead End” and television dramas including “Dating Agency: Cyrano,” where she portrayed Gong Min-young. She then moved on to other roles in “Tell Me What You Saw” and “Run On,” giving her a broadened scope in acting.
In her journey, Sooyoung has collaborated with an array of notable figures in the industry. Within her band Girls’ Generation, she worked closely with Taeyeon, Tiffany, Yoona, Yuri, Seohyun, Sunny, and Hyoyeon. Sooyoung won the Excellence Award at the 2014 MBC Drama Awards for her role in “My Spring Days.” Her performance in “Tell Me What You Saw” led her to win the Excellence Award, Actress in a Miniseries at the 2020 OCN Awards.
