Amy Lou Adams is an American actress. Besides being one of Hollywood’s highest paid actresses, she has won two Golden Globes and been nominated for five Oscars and six BAFTA Awards. In high school, she trained in singing and and dancing, leading to musical theater. While working as a professional dancer at Boulder’s Dinner theater, she auditioned for and won her first film role in Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999).

She moved to Los Angeles for filming and stayed to pursue an acting career. After several small film and TV roles, her big break came starring in Steven Spielberg‘s Catch Me if You Can, playing opposite Leonardo DiCaprio. In 2007, she played the lead in Disney’s Enchanted, which was a huge commercial success earning over $340 million worldwide, as well as earning her a Golden Globe nomination. Her next major film was starring opposite Ben Stiller in Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian (2009). The next year she had a praised performance in Julia & Julia with Meryl Streep. She’s also known for playing Lois Lane opposite Henry Cavill as Superman in Man of Steel (2013) and Batman vs. Superman (2016). Most recently she starred in Arrival (2017), which earned her multiple award nominations for best lead actress.
