Martha Stewart Rescues Three Abandoned Baby Squirrels

Just when you think Martha Stewart has perfected every possible aspect of homemaking, she goes and adds “wildlife rehabilitation specialist” to her extensive resume. The domestic goddess is currently playing surrogate mother to three orphaned baby squirrels. And she’s clearly a natural at it, thanks to running her own veritable home zoo on her 153-acre farm estate in New York, which includes a menagerie of exotic birds, dogs, cats, and various farm animals.

The rescue mission began after a tree was felled on her sprawling farm, which sadly resulted in the death of the squirrels’ mother. Never one to stand by, Stewart took the trio in, housing them in a “warm, cozy box” that is likely nicer than most human apartments. She’s now personally feeding the “so cute” babies with a syringe “every two hours,” a demanding schedule for anyone, let alone a global media mogul.

The rescue happened back in March, with Martha just posted the heartwarming story last week. The three squirrels have already been rehabilitated and released back onto her estate. We last wrote about Martha Stewart when she adopted a Persian cat named Magnolia.
