Lizzo shared the sad news that her darling dog Pooka passed away on Christmas Eve at 18 years old. The “About Damn Time” singer posted a family photo with the senior pup on Christmas Day with the caption, “We will always love you, Pooka Diamanté Jefferson. 4•10•2005 – 12•24•2023.” Lizzo was only 17 when she got Pooka, with the pup being by her side for half her life.
Lizzo followed it up with a gallery of Pooka memories, saying, “I’m not ok im so heartbroken rip Pooka.” Several of her celebrity pet-owning friends gave their condolences. SZA said, “Wait nooo !! I’m so honored have met you.” Sarah Paulson commented, “Sending you all my love/ literally ALL OF IT.”
Just before Pooka passed away, Lizzo made one last video with the elderly fur baby.
