When Dexter was a puppy, he escaped his yard, darted into traffic and got hit by a car. He lost his front leg in the accident. Luckily his dad, Tim, worked as an EMT knew to immediately begin applying tourniquets to Dexter’s front legs. Shortly after, he was rushed to the animal hospital and they could not save the leg. The other leg was seriously injured.
However, that didn’t stop Dexter Dog Ouray! With two working legs and a whole lot of determination, Dexter learned how to walk on his hind legs. And now – thanks to his charming personality and winning drive – Dexter has become an internet sensation with over 1.1 million followers on social media!
