Dave Bautista and Drew Barrymore Team up for the ASPCA’s ‘The Rescue Effect’ for ‘Adopt a Shelter Dog’ Month

As part of October being “Adopt a Shelter Dog Month,” The ASPCA has launched The Rescue Effect campaign, which raises awareness of the positive impact that adopting or fostering a dog can have on shelters (which are always facing overcrowding). And two popular celebrity pet parents and dedicated rescue animal advocates, Dave Bautista and Drew Barrymore, have signed up to help!

The doggy-loving duo will be sharing shelter dogs on their Instagrams to help them get adopted, as well as raise awareness and donations for shelter dogs everywhere. Drew Barrymore’s rescue pets include five cats and her dog, Douglas, who is a regular on her talk show. (her one non-rescue pet is a bearded dragon) In 2016, Barrymore won the ASPCA Compassion Award for all her contributions to animal welfare.

Dave Bautista has four rescue pitbulls and regularly posts about his love for dogs and the importance of adoption. Like Barrymore, Bautista has been a dedicated long-term supporter of the ASPCA.

And earlier this year, Bautista shared his adoption story to promote “Adopt A Shelter Pet Day.”
