Sweet Tart, aka the Olivia Pope of felines, just became the mayor of a small Michigan town. Sweet Tart purred her way to the top of the votes, beating out another cat, 13 dogs, a peacock, a goat and a chicken. The peacock, whose name is Bert, stated: “Peacocks have very good brains, I know everything.”

A baby chimp born at the Detroit Zoo is named after the scientist Jane Goodall. The chimp was born on World Chimpanzee Day. Her namesake Jane Goodall was an English primatologist from 1960 who studied the social interactions of wild chimpanzees.

The champ is Zsa Zsa, a rescued English bulldog hailing from Anoka, Minnesota. This 9-year-old stands out with an extra-long, Looney Tunes-style tongue.
Lola the golden retriever joins fire department to help with mental health
This good girl has joined the Vancouver Fire Department but not to put out fires. Lola, a 2.5-year-old golden retriever, will work as a trauma dog to help firefighters with their mental health. Credit: @vanfirerescue IG Lola was a rescue from Idaho, where she was trained by the Citadel Canine Society, which trains brave dogs to help humans that work as first responders or the military who suffer from stress and PTSD.
