Shelter Dogs Live in Cozy Cabins at Grammy Rose Dog Rescue & Sanctuary

No matter what facilities a dog rescue or sanctuary might have, they’re all doing their best to help pups in need. But for shelter dogs who find themselves at Grammy Rose Dog Rescue & Sanctuary in Acton, Maine… They get to enjoy a cozy wood cabin vacation!

Grammy Rose opened in late 2021 and their mission statement could also double as a tourist brochure. First they rescue dogs from euthanasia and provide them with an indefinite stay in a homelike setting (thanks to their specially made cabins) while they find them their furever homes.

Then for human visitors who are interested in adopting or not, they have an on-site mini golf course and ice cream shop! (with all proceeds going to support Grammy Rose)

And like with most humans and dogs who hear about grammy Rose, they want to know what’s going on exactly inside their cabins. In the video below, it shows space in the back of each cabin with 8 spacious private doggy bedrooms with windows. Then the front is set up like a traditional cabin with a furnished living room, bathroom, kitchen, and laundry room. This helps these soon-to-be-adopted pups get comfortable with living in a real home and space to play indoors with each other. It also provides volunteers and potential adopters with a comfortable, familiar setting to meet and play with the resident pups.

They have outdoor fenced areas to enjoy the grass and fresh air, which also extends into the forest so they can enjoy sniffin’ and rootin’ around there too. They also have forest trails to take these lucky doggos on extended walks.

Here’s a tear-jerking video of new AirBnBarkers arriving at the cabins.

And an adorable video of a Girl Scout troop playing with and learning about dogs.
