S.Coups (Choi Seung Cheol)
Choi Seung Cheol, known professionally as S.Coups, is best known as the leader and one of the main rappers of South Korean boy group Seventeen. Originally part of the trio that laid the foundation for Seventeen, S.Coups has been an influential presence in the entertainment industry since the group’s debut in 2015. The band has released multiple successful albums such as “Love & Letter,” “Teen, Age,” and “An Ode,” garnering international recognition and expanding the boundaries of K-pop.
As the group’s leader, S.Coups has participated in various collaborations. Notable individuals include Woozi and Hoshi, his bandmates, who have also played pivotal roles in Seventeen’s music production and choreography. He’s also worked with producer Bumzu, whose credits are laced throughout Seventeen’s discography. Outside of his group, he has collaborated with K-pop artists like BoA, Zico, and Rain. Internationally, he’s been seen sharing stages with global artists like Charlie Puth and Alessia Cara. Moreover, fashion icons like Donatella Versace and Karl Lagerfeld have acknowledged Seventeen’s influence, indirectly paying tribute to S.Coups as the group’s face. Last but not least, S.Coups has also been involved in television shows, rubbing shoulders with industry heavyweights such as Yoo Jae-suk and Kang Ho-dong.
S.Coups has been part of several achievements. Seventeen received a Golden Disc New Artist Award shortly after their debut and have since collected several Album of the Year awards from ceremonies like the Mnet Asian Music Awards.
