Rosario Dawson
Rosario Dawson is an American actress and activist. Dawson’s career began in the mid-1990s, with her breakout role in the 1995 independent film “Kids.” Since then, she has appeared in numerous films and television shows, including “Rent,” “Sin City,” and “Jane the Virgin.” She has received critical acclaim for her performances and has been nominated for several awards, including a Screen Actors Guild Award for her role in “Unstoppable.”
Dawson’s starred alongside Will Smith in “Men in Black II” and worked with Chris Rock in “Top Five.” Dawson has also collaborated with director Kevin Smith, appearing in several of his films including “Clerks II” and “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.”
Dawson’s worked with former Vice President Al Gore in a partnership to promote climate change awareness through the Climate Reality Project. She has also worked with former President Barack Obama, serving as a co-chair for his re-election campaign in 2012.
In addition to her work as an actress and activist, Dawson co-founded Studio 189, a social enterprise that promotes African fashion and supports artisans in Africa. Dawson is also a producer, having worked on several films and television shows including the drama series “Briarpatch.”
