Moon Bin, better known as Moonbin, was a South Korean singer, dancer, and actor, best known as a member of the K-Pop boy group Astro. He first entered the entertainment industry as a child actor and appeared in various TV dramas before transitioning to music. Moonbin debuted with Astro in 2016 under Fantagio Music and quickly gained a large fan following with their energetic performances and catchy pop tunes.
Moonbin and Astro have released several successful albums and singles over the years, including their debut album “Spring Up,” “Dream Part.01,” and “All Light.” They have won several awards for their music, including the “New Artist Award” at the 31st Golden Disc Awards, the “Rookie of the Year” award at the 2016 Melon Music Awards, and the “Best Dance Performance Male Group” award at the 2019 Mnet Asian Music Awards.
Moonbin has also collaborated with several other artists and celebrities throughout his career. In 2017, he appeared in the music video for girl group WJSN’s song “Happy.” In 2019, he teamed up with fellow Astro member Sanha for the duet “Bad Idea,” which was well-received by fans and critics alike. Moonbin has also acted in several TV dramas, including “The Mermaid Prince” and “The Best Hit,” showcasing his versatility as an entertainer. In 2020, Moonbin and fellow Astro member Yoon San-ha formed a sub-unit group “Moonbin & Sanha” and release three EPs together.
In April 2023, Moonbin passed away at the age of 25.
