He has also starred in several films and competed on the eighteenth season of Dancing with the Stars, where he reached fourth place. In 2018, he was cast as one of the celebrity houseguests on the first American edition of Celebrity Big Brother.

James Maslow’s charismatic presence and musical prowess have led him to collaborate with numerous celebrities across his prolific career, and each has borne unique fruit. When Maslow teamed up with legendary film actor and musician, David Hasselhoff, for “The Hoff’s Christmas Spectacular”, it was a season’s delight, garnering widespread popularity. His collaboration with fellow Big Time Rush bandmate, Kendall Schmidt, in the hit song “Love U Sober,” charted across multiple countries, marking their post-band era. Notably, Maslow’s work with iconic musician Matt Squire in “How I Like It” received considerable airplay. Similarly, his dance performance with professional dancer Peta Murgatroyd in the 18th season of Dancing with the Stars earned a solid fan base and got him to the final four. His memorable duet with Indonesian pop singer Agnez Mo on the track “Miss California” showcased a fantastic blend of cultures and music styles. Maslow’s performance alongside the band New Kids on The Block in the Mixtape tour made headlines, as did his association with the talented Elena Coats on the song “Cry,” which resonated deeply with listeners. His collaboration with DJ Xenia Ghali on “Under the Lights” revealed a new electronic dance music dimension of Maslow’s capabilities. Working with the Emmy award-winning actress Chrissy Metz in the TV series “The Big Leap” was another significant milestone.
