Gabriel Chavarria is an American actor known for leading roles in film and television. He starred as Danny in Freedom Writers (2007) and played Jacob Aguilar in Hulu’s East Los High (2013–2017). He portrayed Preacher in War for the Planet of the Apes (2017) and appeared as Sgt. Raul “Ra” Reyes in The Purge television series (2018–2019). In 2020, he played A.B. Quintanilla in Netflix’s Selena: The Series.

Chavarria’s breakout role came in Freedom Writers opposite Hilary Swank. In War for the Planet of the Apes, he acted alongside Andy Serkis. His work in Lowriders (2016) included a central role opposite Demián Bichir and Theo Rossi. On East Los High, he shared screen time with Danielle Vega and Alicia Sixtos. In The Purge, he co-starred with Jessica Garza and Amanda Warren. In Selena: The Series, he portrayed A.B. Quintanilla, working with Christian Serratos and Ricardo Chavira.
