Duff Goldman
Duff Goldman is an American pastry chef and television personality. He is best known as the executive chef of the Baltimore-based Charm City Cakes shop, which was featured in the Food Network reality TV show “Ace of Cakes.” Goldman has been a judge on the Food Network’s “Holiday Baking Championship,” “Spring Baking Championship,” and “Kids Baking Championship.” He has published several cookbooks and has won multiple awards for his contributions to the culinary arts.
Goldman began his career by attending the Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley and working in various acclaimed kitchens, including the French Laundry, Vail Cascade Hotel, and Olives. In 2002, he opened Charm City Cakes in Baltimore, which gained a reputation for unique cake designs. “Ace of Cakes” aired for ten seasons. His cookbooks include “Ace of Cakes: Inside the World of Charm City Cakes” and “Super Good Baking for Kids.” Goldman has appeared on various other cooking shows and contributed to popularizing cake decorating as an art form.
Goldman’s collaborations have been a vital part of his career. He worked with celebrity chef Bobby Flay on several Food Network specials. He partnered with singer Katy Perry to create a cake for her music video “Birthday.” Goldman teamed up with the Girl Scouts of the USA to promote baking and support their cookie sales initiative. He collaborated with NASA to create a space-themed cake celebrating the Hubble Space Telescope’s 30th anniversary. Goldman worked with Marvel to design a series of superhero-themed cakes. Additionally, he joined forces with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to create custom cakes for children with critical illnesses. He has also collaborated with the American Cancer Society to raise awareness and funds through cake auctions.
