Aloe Blacc
Egbert Nathaniel Dawkins III, known professionally as Aloe Blacc, is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He first gained major recognition in 2010 with his single “I Need a Dollar” and further cemented his status in the music industry with the hit “Wake Me Up,” on which he collaborated with Swedish DJ Avicii. Blacc’s music spans several genres, including soul, R&B, and pop, and he is known for infusing his songs with social and political commentary. His albums “Good Things” and “Lift Your Spirit” have received critical acclaim, with the latter earning him a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Album.
Aloe Blacc’s collaborations with artists across various music genres highlight the breadth of his musical influence. Working with Avicii on “Wake Me Up” brought together elements of electronic music with soulful vocals, achieving worldwide success.
