Ming-Na Wen is an American actress, model and voice actor. Ming-Na Wen was born in Coloane, Macau, and raised in the United States. She began her acting career in 1985, playing Lien Hughes in the soap opera As the World Turns. She went on to appear in a number of popular television series, including The Single Guy, ER, and Boston Legal. However, it was her breakout role in the 1993 film The Joy Luck Club that brought her widespread recognition. Her portrayal of Jing-Mei “June” Woo, a Chinese-American woman struggling with her identity, earned her critical acclaim and established her as a rising star in Hollywood.

Ming-Na Wen’s career milestone came in 1998 when she landed the lead role of Fa Mulan in Disney’s animated feature film Mulan. She later reprised her role in the sequel, Mulan II, as well as in the animated series, Sofia the First.

In addition to her work in film and television, Ming-Na Wen has also made a name for herself in the world of animation. She has lent her voice to a number of beloved characters, including Detective Ellen Yin in The Batman, Princess Yue in Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Aki Ross in Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. Her most recent voice acting work has been as Fennec Shand in the Disney+ series The Mandalorian and the animated series The Bad Batch.

Throughout her career, Ming-Na Wen has collaborated with numerous artists and celebrities, including George Clooney in ER, James Spader in The Blacklist, and Sandra Oh in Grey’s Anatomy. She also worked alongside Jet Li in the 2000 film Romeo Must Die and played a key role in the 2013 film Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. with Brett Dalton and Clark Gregg, which was directed by Joss Whedon.
