Lola Tung is an American actress. Her claim to fame is the portrayal of Isabel “Belly” Conklin in Amazon Prime Video’s adaptation of Jenny Han’s novel, The Summer I Turned Pretty.

Hailing from New York City, Lola is an alumna of Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, graduating in 2020. Her multicultural heritage includes a mix of Chinese and Swedish from her mother’s side and Eastern European roots from her father’s lineage. Her maternal grandmother, interestingly, is Swedish.

In the autumn of 2020, she embarked on her journey at Carnegie Mellon University’s esteemed School of Drama, majoring in acting. After her first academic year, she took a hiatus to commit to the filming of The Summer I Turned Pretty.

During her final year at LaGuardia, Lola showcased her acting prowess in a virtual senior acting presentation. This was where her future manager got the first glimpse of her capabilities. A few months into her inaugural year at Carnegie Mellon University, this same manager approached her, resulting in an audition opportunity. This audition was pivotal – it was for the role of Isabel “Belly” Conklin in Amazon Prime’s screen adaptation of The Summer I Turned Pretty, penned by Jenny Han. Balancing university commitments, she managed her audition on Zoom and clinched her debut credited acting position. Before the series’ premiere season could make its debut, Amazon Prime showed their confidence by commissioning a second season, which was shot in the summer of 2022.

Come September 2021, after her groundbreaking role in The Summer I Turned Pretty, Tung inked a deal with the renowned American talent firm, Creative Artists Agency.
