John Mayer was born in Connecticut. He began playing guitar as a teenager after watching Michael J. Fox’s guitar performance in Back to the Future. He has since won several Grammy’s, most notably for the single Your Body is a Wonderland, achieved multi-platinum status and by 2014 had sold over 20 million albums worldwide.
Mayer has pursued other, less successful interests such as comedy, writing and watch collecting. He’s written a column for Esquire and was a guest host for The Late Late Show. Mayer has also been known to stage pranks on the paparazzi.
