Evgeni Malkin
Evgeni Malkin is a Russian professional ice hockey player playing for the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League (NHL) as of 2023. Malkin joined the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2006 where he quickly became a vital part of the team, helping them win the Stanley Cup in his rookie year. He has been with the Penguins ever since and has helped the team win three more Stanley Cups. Malkin is known for his incredible skill on the ice, including his powerful shot and impressive stickhandling abilities.
Throughout his career, Malkin has achieved numerous milestones. In 2009, he won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the most valuable player of the playoffs, and in 2012, he won the Hart Memorial Trophy as the NHL’s most valuable player. Malkin has also been named to the NHL All-Star Team six times and has won the Art Ross Trophy twice, which is awarded to the NHL’s leading scorer.
Malkin has collaborated with several celebrities and influential people throughout his career. In 2019, he was featured in a music video for the Russian pop star, Laima Vaikule. In 2016, he met Russian President Vladimir Putin and presented him with a signed hockey stick.
Off the ice, Malkin is an advocate for animal welfare. He has been involved with several animal non-profit organizations, including the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium and the Big Cat Rescue in Tampa, Florida. Malkin and his wife, Anna Kasterova, are passionate about animal rescue and have even fostered animals in their home.
In addition to his advocacy work, Malkin has also been involved in several philanthropic initiatives. He and his wife started the Malkin Bowl, which provides financial assistance to children’s hospitals in Pittsburgh and Russia. Malkin has also been involved with the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation and has donated money to several other charities over the years.
