Deborra-Lee Furness is an Australian actress and producer known for her roles in “Shame” (1988) and “Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole” (2010), as well as for her work as an advocate for adoption reform.
Deborra-Lee Furness began her career in the 1980s with roles in Australian television series such as “Neighbours” and “Correlli.” Her breakthrough came with the film “Shame,” where she portrayed a lawyer confronting social issues in a small town. Furness appeared in international projects like “Jindabyne” (2006) and voiced a character in the animated film “Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole.” In addition to acting, Furness produced films and documentaries, including “Standing Room Only” (2003).
Throughout her career, Deborra-Lee Furness has collaborated with notable actors and industry professionals. Her work in “Shame” involved collaboration with Tony Barry. “Jindabyne” saw her working alongside Laura Linney and Gabriel Byrne. In “Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole,” she lent her voice alongside Geoffrey Rush and Hugo Weaving.
