Aaliyah Haughton was an American singer, actress, and fashion icon who made a huge impact on the music industry during her tragically short life. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Aaliyah began her singing career at the young age of 11, when she appeared on the television show Star Search. She was signed to Jive Records at the age of 12 and released her first album “Age Ain’t Nothing But a Number” in 1994. The album was a huge success, spawning the hit singles “Back & Forth” and “At Your Best (You Are Love)”.
Aaliyah went on to star in the feature film Romeo Must Die in 2000 with Jet Li, and released her second album, Aaliyah, which included the hit single “Try Again”. She also worked with some of the biggest names in the music business, including R. Kelly, Timbaland, Missy Elliott, and Ginuwine.
In 2001, Aaliyah was tragically killed in a plane crash, leaving her fans heartbroken. She was only 22 years old at the time of her death. Since then, her legacy has been kept alive by her fans, who continue to celebrate her life and music
