Sandra Sully
Sandra Sully is an Australian news presenter and journalist, currently anchoring 10 News First in Sydney. She gained prominence as the first Australian television journalist to report live during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.[1]
Throughout her career, Sully has hosted various programs, including the game show “Australia’s Brainiest” in 2005 and “Cool Aid Australia’s National Carbon Test” in 2008. She co-hosted the Melbourne Cup carnival broadcast for seven years, becoming the first woman to do so. In 2013, she co-anchored the crime program “Wanted” alongside journalist Matt Doran, focusing on unsolved cases. Sully launched her podcast, “Short Black with Sandra Sully,” in 2019, featuring interviews with inspiring women from diverse backgrounds.[2] In recognition of her contributions to media and the community, she was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 2024.[3]
In addition to her journalism career, Sully has made guest appearances on television programs such as “All Star Family Feud” and “Have You Been Paying Attention?”. In 2023, she participated in the fifth season of “The Masked Singer Australia” as “Fawn,” where she was unmasked in the second episode.[4]
