Patina Miller
Patina Miller is an American actress and singer known for her roles in musical theatre and television. She gained recognition for her Tony Award-winning performance in the Broadway revival of Pippin and her role as Daisy Grant on the CBS series Madam Secretary.
Miller’s career began with her role in the musical Sister Act, where she played Deloris Van Cartier, earning a Tony Award nomination. She achieved further acclaim for her portrayal of the Leading Player in the 2013 Broadway revival of Pippin, for which she won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical. Miller starred in Madam Secretary as Daisy Grant and in the Starz series Power Book III: Raising Kanan as Raquel Thomas. Her film credits include roles in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 and Part 2 as Commander Paylor.
Miller collaborated with Whoopi Goldberg during the development of Sister Act. In Pippin, she performed with Matthew James Thomas. On Madam Secretary, she acted with Téa Leoni. In Power Book III: Raising Kanan, she shared the screen with Mekai Curtis. Her role in The Hunger Games films involved working with Jennifer Lawrence. Additionally, Miller performed with Billy Porter in the Broadway revival of Grease. She also worked with Norm Lewis in the Encores! production of Lost in the Stars.
