Paul McCartney and his wife Nancy Shevell, rescued a dog named Rose, who they first shared publicly with this photo on Instagram to celebrate Love Your Pet Day in February 2021.

Martha (Dog)

Paul McCartney had an English Sheepdog named Martha he got in the summer of 1966. Martha was McCartney’s first pet, never having a dog or cat growing up. In 1997, Martha later became post-humously famous when he revealed the song, “Martha My Dear.” from 1968’s “The White Album” is about his pup, and not secretly about his girlfriend at the time, Jane Asher, which most fans assumed.. McCartney originally wanted to name the pup “Knickers” but Jane Asher wasn’t pleased about the choice, so he went with Martha. Martha died in 1981 at the age of 15.

In July 2023, Paul McCartney and his wife Nancy Shevell adopted a dog named Jet from The Labelle Foundation.

Arrow (Dog)

Breed: English Sheepdog

Paul McCartney had an English Sheepdog named Arrow, that was a puppy of Martha’s. Arrow was famously featured alongside McCartney on the cover of his 1993 album “Paul is Live.”
