Pitbulls have a bad rap, but it’s pittys like Buck that keep proving people wrong. Buck was abandoned and locked in the nighttime dropbox at a California shelter but he wasn’t alone. The nighttime dropbox is available for people to surrender their animals after the shelter has closed.

Fred, a 10-year-old yellow Labrador, has become an adoptive father to nine abandoned ducklings in Essex, England. Potato is blind and weighs only 3 pounds, but that doesn’t stop her from living her best life. The kitty was born with extremely short legs – we’re talking inches – and a host of other issues. Luckily she’s got a loving furever mom who’s helped the little cat overcome impossible odds.

World, meet Beaux Tox: the yellow lab with a heart of gold and some pretty unconventional good looks. Beaux Tox has a facial ‘deformity’ which only makes him cuter. He has six brothers and sisters; during their shared time in the womb, things got a little crowded.

Blue Dozer and OJ might be an unlikely pair, but two bestfriends have never been closer. Blue Dozer is a 6-year-old Staffordshire Terrier who acts as a guide-dog for his blind best-friend, 12-year-old OJ the Dachshund. They were surrendered to Richmond Animal Care and Control in Virginia when their owner became homeless and could no longer provide the care they needed.

Chris Evans makes no secret about loving his pup, Dodger. The Avengers star posts about his rescue dog every chance he gets and this #InternationalPetDay is no exception. Evans tweeted a video showing the first time he met his good boy.
