Did you know Penn State University has an unofficial mascot with 10 times the followers of their official mascot the Nittany Lion? Named Sneezy, she isn’t just one of the many grey squirrels or students found in the area, she’s become a symbol of school pride and unity. Several years ago, a new Penn state student named Mary Krupa befriended Sneezy and thought it would be cute to make her a little hat.
St. Francis of Assisi (the patron saint of animals) would be proud of the newest addition to a Bolivian Monastery: Friar Moustache. The Schnauzer named Carmelo was adopted by a Franciscan Monastery in Bolivia and has quickly become the Monks favourite brother.
Poppy is a puppy who faced impossible odds: young, alone and unable to use her back legs. She also lives in a remote region of Botswana in southern Africa, where lions and many other predators could easily make her their lunch. In spite of this, she had the heart to survive and in turn inspire others.

Taylor Dean, an animal lover and educator on Youtube, has a friend named Derek that works at a local aquarium shop who shared his good deed for the day with her. Cotton was found blind and living outdoors by a nice human named Joe in Florida. When leaving food outside for his cat, Cotton came out of nowhere and started eating the food. Joe could see the kitty was very hungry and in bad shape, with rough fur and his eyes crusted shut.
Last month a fire broke out in an Oregon barn, sadly killing the animals living inside. This included a few goats and pigs, along with a litter of puppies. Daisy the momma dog managed to survive, as her humans had to hold her from running into the burning barn.

The suave, Farrah Fawcett look alike was rescued from a puppy mill by father and American pop-culture commentator/model Josh “The Fat Jew” Ostrovsky and his then-wife publicist Katie Sturino. Her tongue perpetually sticks out of the side of her mouth (a super cute side effect from having all of her teeth removed) giving her an idgaf vibe, much like her father.
Sage is a blind labrador retriever who happily lived with her humans in Boulder Creek, California. This took a sad turn when one night after playing with Sage in their backyard, they forgot to bring her inside. Once they realized and went to get her, she was gone.
Recently on The Late Show, host Stephen Colbert and actress Aubrey Plaza teamed up for a segment called “Rescue Dog Rescue” to help get some super cute pups adopted from the North Shore Animal League America. To counter the usually sad adoption ads, specifically the classic one starring singer Sarah McLachlan, Colbert is using hilarious made-up facts about each puppy to get them forever homes. “Because if you’re not willing to lie for an adorable puppy, then you belong in a shelter.” said Colbert. Plaza said that Ace, a hound-mix is “unlike every other dog you’ve met, people say Ace’s breath smells like freshly baked muffins.
